How to view and restore archived videos and photos on Instagram

Instead of throwing photos or videos in the trash, this feature puts them in a private archive that only Instagram users can enjoy.
In addition to contributions, photos or videos in interesting stories can also be included in the archive so that users can save them over a longer period of time.
By storing photos or videos in an archive, you won’t lose a lot of related content like number of likes and comments. The reason is that Instagram also archives various things.
Since it is not deleted, users can return to view photos and videos, as well as interactions that have been archived on Instagram. But unfortunately, sometimes some people forget how to do it.

How to view archived photos and videos on Instagram
- Run the Instagram app
- If necessary, log into your account
- Go to the Profile tab by tapping the avatar photo you are using
- After entering the profile page, tap menu (Hamburger icon) in the upper right corner
- Then select the option archive
- You can also tap the menu at the top to go to the Stories Archive Page, Post, or Live Broadcast
It could be said that this method is quite simple to view photos, videos, and stories that have been previously archived. This also gives you the opportunity to reread the comments contained therein.
What’s more interesting is that the feature on Instagram also allows users to return content and interactions so that they appear on their profiles and can be seen by followers or others.
How to Recover Archived Photos and Videos
For mail
- Open the Instagram app and go to the profile area
- Tap menu then select above archive
- Change the menu at the top to Contribution archive
- Find and select the content you want to restore
- When you find it, click Different menu (Three-point symbol) at the top right of the content
- Next click Show in profile
That way, photos and videos will return to the profile page in the previous order. If you don’t see it, you can refresh the page by dragging the screen down until you see a loading icon.
Unfortunately, unlike posts, story content does not support the option to return it as it is designed to be broadcast once. It’s just that you can still return it as a highlight or highlight on Instagram.
For stories
- Open the archive page as before
- Tap the menu at the top and go to Options Stories archive
- Find and open the story you want to highlight
- Click button Highlights
- Create a highlight title or choose from the options available if you already have one
- Click button Add to then complete if needed
In addition to sharing in the form of highlights, users can alternatively bring the archived story to the profile page as a regular post.
In the archived content of the story that you want to share again, tap the button More in the lower right corner. Then select the option Share as a post Then follow the instructions on the screen.
Similarly, users can re-share completed live broadcasts. Also, you can follow the steps below.
For live broadcast
- Visit the archive page on the Instagram app
- Change the menu at the top to Options Live archive by tapping on it
- Find and select the live content that you want to share again
- Then click on Options share at the bottom of the screen and follow the instructions
Users will certainly not find any content in the archive if they have never archived it. Both story and live content might run automatically, but you will need to do it manually for content from Instagram posts.
How to archive photos and videos on Instagram
Instagram post
- Open the Instagram app and use the homepage or profile page to find the content you want to archive
- Open the contents, then click Different menu (Three-point symbol) in the upper right corner
- Then next select the option archive
The selected photo or video immediately disappears from the homepage or profile. You can keep viewing it by following the steps above.
For stories and live broadcasts, all you have to do in the meantime is activate the archiving function of both. In this way, the content is archived immediately after the transfer is complete.
Stories and Live Streaming
- Launch Instagram, then visit the profile by tapping on your avatar
- click menu above
- Then select next settings
- Open the settings menu privacy
- Added story then find the section Save
- Make sure the button is in the option Save history in archive and Save live in the archive light up
If you activate this storage option, programs and stories are automatically saved in the archive area after the duration has expired, so that you do not lose any important content.
